Shirley Heimann Johnson, 87, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on April 6th after a tiring battle with dementia.

A service will be held Friday, April 12th at 1 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville (visitation prior to service). Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Harper, Texas.

Shirley was born on October 2, 1936, to Marvin and Olive Heimann in Kerrville, Texas. In her childhood, she was a neighbor of her future husband, Fred Johnson. They were married for 63 years and were the proud parents of Fred Jr., Colton, Priscilla, and Brad. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother. She excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of our family. She was the constant cheerleader and supporter.

She was also a passionate artist. She enjoyed many years of painting with her Dallas Art Club friends.

She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Fred and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Fred Jr. and wife Camille, Colton and wife Jan, Priscilla and husband Ed, Brad and wife Kierin, many other relatives and their families.

Undoubtedly, she was the best Oma to her 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She will never be forgotten. She will be remembered as a strong, courageous and sometimes feisty German. God blessed us with her life and we will hold her memory dear to our hearts.
