Thomas England Carswell, Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, at his home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in Houston on January 8, 1941, to parents Maggie Irene Bransom Carswell and Thomas England Carswell. He was married for 59 years to Judy Carswell after they met at The University of Texas.

Tom graduated from The University of Texas in 1965 with a degree in Physics and went to work at NASA for Ford Aerospace. He spent his 30-year career working in the aerospace industry in Houston. He was always proud of his contributions to the space industry, and his fascination with rockets remained as he loved to spend time in Boca Chica watching the new rockets being built and he followed every launch online. He loved traveling with Judy and their dogs in their RV where they spent months at a time collecting rock samples from all over the US. He also loved Texas history and genealogy and was active in the Kerrville chapter of The Sons of the American Revolution - having served as the president, secretary, and treasurer.

Tom is survived by his wife, Judy Carswell of Kerrville; his children, KC and John Carswell and their spouses, Deborah Carswell and Becky Carswell; and grandchildren, Maggie Carswell and Ryleigh Carswell.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kerrville on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM.

The family asks that you consider a donation to your charity of choice in lieu of flowers.

Worked along side of Tom at NASA FORD AEROSPACE preparing Mission Control systems for support of flight. He was software development and I was hardware. We each had many, many engineers to manage and coordinate. Tom was excelant at his job and I enjoyed our relationship. May he rest in peace.
