Patsy Burns Holekamp, of Kerrville, Texas, died on Sunday, December 26, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Elgin, Texas on September 25, 1924 to Winifred McCall and Pat Burns.

After graduating from Texas State Teachers College (now Texas State University), she moved to Kerrville to teach school, where she met Raymond "Doc" Holekamp. They got married on August 6, 1949. As a wife and mother of Nancy Day, Jane Ann and their many friends, she embraced the roles of Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School leader, PTO officer, Girl Scout leader, and Tivy Band Boosters. Strong in her relationship with the Lord, she was active in the Presbyterian Women's Circles and was most honored to be recognized as a Life Member of the Presbyterian Women. Patsy loved to travel, she loved being with people, and she loved and supported her friends and family. This little spit-fire of a lady touched many lives with her keen ability to listen, care deeply, and laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Raymond Holekamp.

Survivors include daughters, Nancy Day and husband T. Sandlin of Danbury, Texas, and Jane Ann and husband Devereaux Temple of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Daniel Spencer Sandlin, Kristen Sandlin and husband Travis Meier, Ginny Temple and husband Jonathan Brown, and Elizabeth Temple and husband Brian Boelsche; and one great-grandson, Doc Spencer Meier.

Memorial service is 1:30 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville with Rev. Dr. Jack Haberer officiating. Masks and social distancing are required.

Private burial at Comfort Cemetery.

Memorials honoring Patsy Holekamp can be made to Peterson Hospital Foundation or to Schreiner University.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of your mother. It was a lifetime ago that I knew her. Way back in 1947-48 she was my fifth grade teacher. I loved her dearly and so did everyone in her class. I always felt bad for putting the small grass snakes in her desk drawer. It truly frightened her when she pulled the drawer open. Of course she never suspected me. Benny Bob Barron got the blame. I simply cannot remember whether or not I ever confessed. She was always my very favorite teacher. I am truly sorry for your loss and I pray for comfort for all her family.
Blessings.

Nancy Day, Jane Ann and Families -- long time! Your family is one of the longest I've known since moving next door to you in the 60's! I am so sorry to hear of Patsy's passing - what a woman - ALWAYS so elegant and classy - and always managed to bake or make scrumptious treats for all the kids on our block! GREAT fond memories of your whole family - all of you so nice and such a blessing. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Lee Ann Risinger

My first job when I moved to Kerrville in the early 80’s was working with Dr. Holecamp. So I had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Holecamp also. She was such a beautiful and sweet lady. Sending love and prayers! ❤️

Hello Patsy’s Family,

We lived across the street from Doc and Patsy and have nothing but kind words and fond memories of them both. They were so welcoming when we moved in and our kids were in such awe of their giant Magnolia tree; they loved to enter at the bottom to play hide-n-seek. As they grew older they tried to climb the tree much to Patsy’s dismay one day when she caught our son midway up! Their yard was also one of the nicest on the block. They took such good care of it. Patsy was always offering our kids treats. She was always so kind. We miss them both.
We have such fond memories of them in our neighborhood. We offer our sincerest condolences. We pray for peace for your family at this time.

01-01-22:
Hello, Family. I thought so much of Patsy. In fact, she was one of my favorite people and truly enriched my life. I have nothing but fond memories of her.
I did housecleaning for her in Kerrville for quite a while and always looked forward to our visits during those times. Later, Sug Groff would give me updates when I would ask her if she had heard from Patsy.
May Holy Spirit comfort each of you in your grief as only He can. May you always treasure her having been a part of your life for so many years. The world is a better place because of her.
Sincerely,
Jeri Snodgrass
