  • Guestbook
Susie passed into the glorious presence of Jesus on May 20, 2022, where she was reunited with her parents, C.B and Latriece Harper and her son, Tim.

Susie's legacy will be treasured by her loving husband, Ray Furr and their children, Rebecca, Mandy and son in love, Fernando; her sister Virginia and brother in love Steve and her brother Chip and sister in love Christie. She also has grandchildren, who lovingly refer to her as "Gigi", April and her husband Frank, Matthew and his wife Lauren, Denise and Kristen. She has two great grandchildren, Carter and Luke.

Susie was the treasured wife of Ray Furr for over 65 years. She adored him and brought a lot of spunk and adventure to his life. Ray and Susie's love for one another was a shining example to so many. She was an amazing mother to her children. Some of her family's fondest memories of her are playing cards with her because she would frequently break out in song and try to distract her opponents. Life with Susie was never dull. She had songs for everything and even taught others Scripture through song.

Susie is adored by everyone who knows her. Her love for Jesus is contagious and remarkable. She is truly one of a kind. There is no one on earth like her and her love for others could be tangibly felt. In addition to her family, she was a spiritual mother and mentor to countless people over the years. She was very active in Women's Aglow. She was a dynamic speaker, teacher and counselor. She led worship for many years and ministered to many in prayer and song. Susie fiercely loved Jesus and her family. She faithfully stood on the Word of God, exhorting her brothers and sisters in Christ all of her life.

Those who knew Susie well, could attest to her being a faithful friend through good times and difficult times, always reassuring those she loved of how precious they were to Jesus. She was instrumental in the lives of so many and she will be greatly missed and never forgotten. She wanted more than anything for everyone she loved to know Jesus with all their heart and to be loved.

The world isn't the same without Susie in it, but we are confident she is with Jesus and we will see her again. She is whole, completely healed and in His glorious presence. She has now seen Jesus face to face, and she is forever changed. She has entered into her eternal reward, where she can hear, "well done, good and faithful servant." We will love her forever.

Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Amanda Rocha.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Peterson Hospice.

Beloved brothers and sisters, we want you to be quite certain about the truth concerning those who have passed away, so that you won't be overwhelmed with grief like many others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who died while believing in him.

As my big sister, Susie will be greatly missed. She was not just family but a friend that I could always count on. We enjoyed special times at the domino table, beating the boys. I loved the dance she did when we won.

She was responsive for getting me involved with Woman’s Agko where she was very active. I’m pleased to say I’m sure that I will see her again when we are both in the nearer presence of the Lord

Aunt Susie was so very special to all of us, and let’s not forget I carry her name. The Jesus in her always shone so brightly and she will be greatly missed until we meet again in Heaven. I am so thankful that she has been completely healed and is with Jesus rejoicing around His throne. Our thoughts & prayers are with the whole Furr family. Our God is faithful and He promises to never leave us and never for sake us! May you feel His presence now more than ever; may He surround you with His peace that surpasses all understanding; may His loving arms hold you tightly; and may He give you the grace to walk this journey out! Praying the family today. I’m there in spirit. Wishing I could be there in person! Praying that the God of hope fill you all with joy as you trust in him. Praying that the presence of God fills that funeral home and touches everyone who needs a touch from the Lord. Celebrating Aunt SUSIE‘s life and Christian heritage, who’s value is immeasurable. Celebrating her love for life and her love for Jesus that touched everyone around her.
I am rejoicing that she is in the presence of Jesus and having a family reunion with Bubbie and B-honey. I am rejoicing that we will see her again soon. Holding your arms up and the families arms up today. Much love ❤️

There are certain people who God sends into our lives to bring joy and comfort. Susie was that person for me! In 2002 I began to migrate to Kerrville in the winter to escape the Colorado snow, and the loneliness of recent “widowhood”. Susie enthusiastically welcomed me the very first time I visited her church, and we quickly discovered that we shared a passion for our Lord Jesus. We could talk about Him for hours! …>>And Yard Sales…We loved to go almost every Saturday! LOL!.>>When, in 2007 I had to move back to Colorado permanently…Susie and I would still have extended phone visits…...sharing what God was doing in our lives, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying!>>. Even long distance she was my best friend!! I know I will see her again. And we will celebrate and laugh together in God’s dimension. And I also want to thank Ray for being so supportive of the relationship between Susie and me. He put up with our “” chatter”” whenever we were together. …..

Suzy has always been a loving and caring person since I have known her. My earliest memories of Suzy Harper Furr go back to circa 1943. Suzy was about 5 years old and lived at 257 Kirk Place in San Antonio, Texas. I (Aunt Alta) lived at 207 on the same street. Suzy would ride her tricycle down to our house where my brother Wayne who was 7 and I was 9 would play.

She would not stay long for fear of getting a spanking for going so far from her house.

Who knew that I would marry her uncle, Ted Harper in 1953 and spend 66 years with him until his passing in 2019.

I know that both of them are with Jesus right now.

Love, Aunt Alta.

My husband and I attended Impact with Susie and Ray and sat very near them each week. They were such a light and blessing. I could always count on Susie to care and pray. She will be greatly missed by us but we rejoice in the fact that she has reached her final destination. May the Lord strengthen Ray and be his constant companion.

My husband Glenn and I met Ray and Susie the 1st time we came to church at Impact Christian Fellowship. Ray and Susie were so faithful. I know it had to be hard towards the end, to not be able to come as often. We sat in front of them when we came on Sunday. Susie always worshiped the Lord so beautifully. Ray so faithfully by her side. We will miss you friend and look forward to seeing you again on the other side. Glory to HIS Holy name!
