John L. Overley, 81, of Bandera, Tx went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2021 after a long battle with COPD and Alzheimers, in Bandera, TX. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 31, 1939 to Roy and Virginia Overley. He married Sandra L Bort on January 4, 1964. They spent 52 years together making many memories before her passing in 2016.
He graduated from Wayne State University and went on to serve in the US Air Force. John spent his career as a successful business owner of Ben Franklin stores for 40 years. He retired in 1998 and spent his retirement trying to perfect his golf game with his wife.
His golf game is now perfect, and he is playing on the best course now with his loving wife.
John is preceded in death by his father, Roy Overley; mother, Virginia Overley; wife, Sandra Overley.
John is survived by children, Joy Lee, DJ and Karen Overley; siblings, Phyliss Moore, Janice Wilberg; grandchildren, Jesse Lee, Ryan Lee, Aaron Lee, Jason Lee, Wesley and Kilee Overley, and Wyatt Overley; great grandchild, Heidi Lee.
