Theone Wegner Lovelady
6/16/1937 - 11/12/2022

Our beloved Theone Wegner Lovelady has gone to her Heavenly home with the Graces rewarded to her by God. Theone passed away peacefully on November 12, 2022.

Theone was born June 16, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, to parents Dorothy and Herman Wegner. Theone and her younger sister Gail lost their parents at a young age and were raised by their father's sister Amanda. Theone grew up in Herron, MI, and graduated from Alpena High school in 1954.

Theone married James (JR) Lovelady in 1960. His career in the military and later as a Public Information Officer with the US Army led to many family moves around the continental US. Theone was a stay-at-home Mom, and raised her three sons and one daughter in a loving home where everyone was always welcome--and everyone knew Mrs. L. would have goodies to eat. She was very active in her children's school activities, and she was the quintessential "Band Mom" both in El Paso, TX and Foresthill, MD. As her children grew, she resumed a career as an administrative assistant for a variety of organizations and medical professionals.

Theone and JR retired to the Texas Hill Country in 1987, and kept busy at their ranch in Mountain Home for thirty years. They loved each of their cattle, their gardens and flowers, and each of the many dogs and cats that they treasured over the years. The Lovelady "kids" and their families (she had six grandchildren), and all of their friends and relations came to love "the Ranch" JR and Theone created for themselves, and many, many memories were made visiting Grandma and Grampa L.

Theone is survived by her sister Gail whom she lived with after JR passed away. Her surviving children are Michael Paul Lovelady of Lancaster, CA, Steven Scott Lovelady of Canyon Lake, TX, James Tracy Lovelady of Kennewick, WA, and Tamyra Gail Lovelady of Montgomery, TX.

Theone's ashes will be interred at the columbarium at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery next to her husband, JR.

Donations in memory of Theone may be made to the charity of your choice.
