Nancy Carolyn Russell

Nancy Carolyn Waldo Russell, who passed away November 9, 2023, was born on November 23, 1935 in Muncie, Indiana to Robert C. and Louise Waldo. In her early teens, her family moved to California where she grew up, married and had 4 children who survived her, Cyndi Douglas, Ken Russell, Lori Airhart and Jenna Cummings. She loved living in California, having a large family and many dear friends. She had numerous jobs and met many interesting and notable people.

There is one person she met that totally changed her life for the better, though, and that was Jesus the Christ. Although Nancy had many hardships in her life, Jesus promised her to be her Help, Provider, Protector, Perfect Father through all her life. Nancy was led by Jesus, because he chose her to become a prayer warrior, loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. She was also beloved by many who were not blood-related to her. She bloomed where she was planted, whether in California or Kerrville. Her best quality was that she realized her total dependence on God, His Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. She prayed fervently and much for her family, her friends (many who bled over into family), her city, her state, her nation and many other nations of the world, especially her beloved Israel.

Nancy truly got better with age and made an impact on people who barely knew her. Her chief goal in life was to give glory, honor and point to her beloved, God, who saved her. She may have been small in stature, but God used her to make himself known to many.

Her family and friends are sad that she has died, but we really give thanks that such a woman LIVED!

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 19, 2024 at Impact Christian Fellowship.
