Iva Dell Cates Hufstutler

Mrs. Iva Dell Cates Hufstutler of Kerrville, gained her wings on July 16, 2024, at the age of 97 years old.

She was born to Levi and Janie Cates of Cherokee, Texas on November 28, 1926.

On August 2, 1946, Iva Dell married the love of her life and soulmate, Raymond A. Hufstutler. They were happily married for 58 years.

Iva Dell was a member of the Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club and the Masonic Lodge. For many years, Iva Dell worked at the Bank of America in California. After retiring, they traveled the United States in an RV for several years. In 1985, Iva Dell and her husband, Raymond, found their loving and beautiful home in Ingram. Iva Dell enjoyed cooking and sewing for her beloved husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Janie Cates; her four brothers; her four sisters; and her beloved husband, Raymond.

Iva Dell is survived by her dear friend, Michelle Purcell and Michelle’s children, Angel and Steven.

Iva Dell enjoyed life and made the very best out of every situation. She was always willing to help those in need. Mrs. Hufstutler had a heart of gold and was very strong in her faith.

Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Rev. John Onstott. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
