Glenn Tegeler
10/17/1948 - 7/23/2024

Glenn Tegeler, 75, of Kerrville, passed away July 23, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 17, 1948, to Benhard and Hilda Tegeler in Brenham, Texas, and raised in Kenney, Texas.

After high school, he played football at Blinn College and Texas A&I University. In 1970, while playing the position of linebacker at Texas A&I, he and his teammates, many of whom remained lifelong friends, went on to win the National Championship Title. After college, Glenn went on to become a successful salesman in the oilfield industry in Corpus Christi and Houston, where he met his wife of 24 years, Christine.

After retirement, he fulfilled his dream of living in the Texas Hill Country by moving to Center Point and having a home on acreage with an outdoor kitchen. Always the welcoming host, he looked for any opportunity to invite a crowd over for his famous barbecue on his homemade pits. He rarely missed an opportunity to go hunting with his son, granddaughters, and friends. His granddaughters fondly remember his signature “Hello, baby” greeting and “Atta girl” after any success. When not cooking or hunting, he could be found silently praying with his bible, or out at his shop working on metal and woodworking projects.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benhard and Hilda Tegeler; his brother, Kenneth Tegeler; and daughter, Stacey Tegeler. He is survived by his wife, Christine; son, Curtis (Sandy) Tegeler; daughter, Nicole A. LeeMaster; and grandchildren, Kadi, Paige, and Hailey Tegeler.

Honorary pallbearers are Richard Chapman, Chuck Daniels, Shane Howerton, Allen Kaiser, Rick Powell, Gerald Tegeler and Bob Washmon.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, TX 78028.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to Glioblastoma Foundation or the charity of your choice.
