Michael Lee Heyn Jr.
12/4/1965 - 9/20/2024

Michael Lee Heyn Jr., most commonly known as Lee, dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully from this life on September 20, 2024, at the age of 58.

Lee was the middle child of 4, born to Michael and Jane Heyn in Alexandria, MN, on December 4, 1965. After graduating from Tivy High School in 1984, Lee went onto study at Angelo State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business, kickstarting a long career in the financial field working for HSBC, Daimler Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz. Lee met the love of his life, Laura, and married her on March 7, 2009.

During his life, Lee was an avid sports fan, especially of his Texas home teams: the Cowboys, Rangers, and Longhorns. He enjoyed golfing and water sports. Lee was a sharp-dressed man who never met a stranger and always prayed before meals. Lee loved his family and appreciated them as often as possible, sometimes with a hug, but most frequently with candy, a nickname or an “I love you” hand sign. He was generous, loyal, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Lee had a quiet strength, an understanding and caring personality, a forgiving heart, and a gentle manner about him. While our hearts mourn the loss, we will always remember his beautiful smile and the twinkle in his eye as we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.

Lee joins his parents, Michael (March 10, 2023) and Jane (May 14, 2024) Heyn. He is survived by his wife, Laura Heyn; stepchildren, Jessica Humphrey, Christopher Lawson and Hope Lawson; siblings, Lisa Heyn, Dawn LaRonde (Gary) and Matthew Heyn (Melinda); granddaughters, Marley and Raelee Humphrey; as well as 7 nieces and nephews and 7 great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be forever remembered in their hearts and missed every day. We know we will see him again.

Visitation will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM, and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery at 10:00AM on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Flowers and condolences can be sent to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville, Texas (www.grimesfuneralchapels.com). In memory of Lee, donations can be made to your charity of choice.
