Curtis Alan Martinez, age 67, of Kerrville, TX passed away on September 22, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bette Martinez and his two older sisters, Kathryn Brown and Karen Martinez. He is survived by his two younger brothers, Donald and Christopher Martinez.

Curtis was born on February 22, 1957, in Charlotte, NC and grew up in Houston, TX, where he attended Robert E. Lee High School.

Early on, he had a passion for music and discovered that he was a gifted guitar player. In the 1980s, Curtis worked various jobs in auto sales. Like his father, one of Curtis’s favorite hobbies was flying. His biggest accomplishment was earning his pilot’s license and owning a Cessna 152 for a short time. With his musical talent, he spent numerous hours writing his own music and had an unfulfilled desire to become a professional musician.

Throughout Curtis’s life he experienced many difficulties and hardships, but in 2014, he renewed his relationship with the Lord and sought forgiveness. He enjoyed attending Sunday services and being with the special friends he made at the local Zion Lutheran Church and in the home at Hill Country Outreach where he lived for the past 10 years in Kerrville.

Private graveside services will be planned in the near future.
