Richard A. Blair II

Richard A. Blair II, age 73, passed away November 3, 2024, in Kerrville, Texas. Richard was born at Fort Monroe, Virginia, to Col. Richard A. Blair and Mary Reid Blair on March 4, 1951.

Richard received a Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Texas State in 1974, and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences (Respiratory Therapy) in 1977.

Richard was a Respiratory Therapist for over 40 years, recognized many times for his exemplary work and care for his patients.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brothers, James (Jimmy) and Anthony (Tony) Blair.

Richard never met a stranger! He brought fun and laughter wherever he went. His boisterous positive attitude always promised the best day ever for his family and friends. His love for life and fun was contagious.

Without ever complaining, Richard fought a brave and courageous battle with a lifetime of physical difficulty. He was always compassionate and encouraging to others.

Richard is survived by his beloved best friend and champion, brother Charles (Chuck) Blair (wife Kate); sister, Sandy Donovan; nieces and nephews, Christine Erickson Spurlock, James Blair (wife Pamela), Lauren Lopez (husband Bryant) and Nelson Blair and their children Carson, Andrew and Reid Blair, Bruno and Sunny Lopez, Audrey Lawson, Charles and Jack Spurlock; many cousins, those especially dear and close with Richard: John Wright, Thomas Wright, and faithful Jean Wright Korcz; Richard’s life long and most cherished friend, Leonard Cucolo (wife Lynn).

A celebration of Richard’s life was held November 10, 2024.
