Victoria Pernell Williams
10/16/1943 - 2/14/2025
Victoria Pernell Williams, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025 with her children by her side. Vicki was born October 16, 1943 in Dallas, to Lois V. Wells Pernell and James Herbert Pernell. She attended Sudie L. Williams Elementary and the Hockaday School. While attending Hockaday she met the love of her life, Jimmy Williams, the star quarterback of the 1958 St. Marks championship football team. Jimmy and Vicki were married on June 16, 1962 in Dallas and settled in Austin where they both attended The University of Texas. Upon Jimmy’s graduation from law school, the couple settled in Dallas to raise their growing family. Vicki loved serving her community. She was an active member of The Junior League of Dallas and served charities that were near and dear to her, including VNA’s Meals on Wheels program and the newly established Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. She was an active member of Midway Hills Christian Church where she volunteered faithfully for decades and later became a deacon.
When their children had grown, Jimmy and Vicki fell in love with the Texas Hill Country and moved to Kerrville. As a Kerrville resident for over 30 years, Vicki continued to serve her community through her work with the Humane Society of Kerrville and her many volunteer roles at her beloved church, Kerrville First United Methodist. The ultimate prayer warrior, Vicki’s faith and trust in God helped guide many people through hard times by being the hands and feet of Christ. An incredible gourmet cook, Vicki left a legacy of family recipes that will be passed down for generations. Also an avid gardener with a big green thumb, her friends and family marvel at her gorgeous plants and flowers which she has so patiently and lovingly nurtured over the years.
Vicki was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Jimmy Lee Williams, and her parents. She is survived by her three children: Jim Williams, Jr. and wife Mary of Colleyville, daughters Jennifer Craft and husband Matt of Dallas, Rheamy Higgins and husband James of Willis, TX; grandchildren Davis, Katherine and Emily, Charlie and Billy, and Jefferson, Kendall and Haley; her younger brother, Jim Pernell and nieces Alison and Lindsey and families, all of Northern California, and her nephew Brad Williams and family of Dallas. Affectionately known as VeeVee by her grandkids, she was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
We’d like to thank her Kerrville family who took such good care of her, specifically her loving neighbors Mark and Debbie Wheeler, and her Kerrville “bestus” Donna Magee.
A private graveside burial is planned for Tuesday, February 25th at Turrentine Jackson Morrow in Allen, TX. A memorial service will be held at Kerrville First United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM at 321 Thompson Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any of the following organizations loved and cherished by Vicki: Mustard Seed Ministries of Kerrville First United Methodist Church at 321 Thompson Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028, or Hill Country Ministries or the Humane Society of Kerrville.
