James was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Edd and Leona Meissner, Albert and Nora Whetstone, his dear mother, Edline Meissner-Whetstone, his father, Douglas Wayne Whetstone, and his wife, Judith Chambers, who whose memory he held close to his heart. He is survived by his loving family: his sister, Tammye Renee Elliott; brother, Ricky Lee Whetstone; step-sister, Cathy Tilton; and stepmother, Judith Whetstone. He also leaves behind his niece, Tiffany ‘lil bit’ Van Dalen, and her two children, Bryson and Ellie.
In addition to his family, James is survived by his beloved girlfriend, Laura Hickey-Tuttle, who was a source of great love and companionship. James was blessed with numerous cousins, aunts, friends, and loved ones with whom he shared countless outdoor adventures, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A true lover of all animals, James was fortunate to have several loyal dogs and goats throughout his lifetime. From a tree-climbing canine to a Harley-riding partner, and his recent pups who were the largest lap dogs anyone has ever known, to his hand fed-large personality goats, his furry friends brought him endless happiness. James' sense of humor and lighthearted approach to life served as a gentle reminder to those around him to cherish and enjoy the simpler things in life.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of James's family and friends, near and far, for your support and condolences during this difficult time. James was a man who was loved greatly, and he is now finally at peace.
