Mary Jo Davis

Mary Jo Davis, 79, of Harper, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Texas, after a long battle with diabetes. She was born in Bakersfield, CA to Serafino and Coralie Zungoli on June 28, 1945. She was married to Gary Riccomini in Bakersfield from 1966 until 2005. She married CMSgt James M. Davis (USAF ret) on June 18, 2011, in Harper, Texas.

She graduated from Tehachapi High School, Tehachapi, California in 1963. She later graduated from Lyle's College of Beauty, Bakersfield, California about 1984. She worked as a hair stylist in Bakersfield for over 20 years.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Davis; her son, Michael Riccomini (Lara); daughter, Catherine Riccomini (Patrick); stepdaughter, Katie Silvey (Curt); and stepson, James Davis (Kelly); as well as three grandchildren, Anthony Riccomini, Savannah Kleespies, and Andromeda Davis.

Visitation will be 3-5pm, Sunday, April 27 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10am, Monday, April 28 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Burial will be at 10:45am, Friday, May 2 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many doctors and nurses who took care of Mary Jo and kept her as healthy as possible. Special thanks to the Chronic Wound Care Clinic at Methodist Hill Country Hospital for their heroic efforts over the past 10 years keeping the diabetic wounds in check.
