George Wayne Randall

George Wayne Randall passed away on September 11, 2025, in Kerrville at the age of 80. He was born in Monterey, CA to William Troy Randall and Julia Dell Stephens Randall on December 22, 1944. He attended McCollum High School and San Antonio College. George joined the Army in 1963 and served in the 101 Airborne until 1966. He married Mary Nell Carleton on May 23, 1970, in Barksdale, TX.
George joined the San Antonio Fire Department in 1967, where he served for 32 years, working as an engineer (later called an FAO), retiring in December 2000. He joined the Air Force Reserves in 1983 and served there until March 2000. In 1969, he began following Jesus and continued following Him until the day he passed from this life to the merciful presence of Christ.
George loved working on cars, landscaping, and fixing anything broken. He had the unique ability to talk to two different people on two different phones at the same time and always went out of his way to help anyone in need. He was a kind and caring father and grandfather, loving to spend time with his family. He was ordained as a deacon in First Baptist Church of Boerne and served in this capacity for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Jimmy, Sherry, Joe, and Gary, as well as several aunts and cousins. His parents-in-law (who he considered as his own parents), Paul and Rosa Carleton also predeceased him.
Survivors include Mary Nell Randall, his wife, daughter Stephanie Tindell (married to Josh Tindell), son Gregory Randall, and grandchildren Susannah (Rachelle) Tindell and David Tindell, his brother and sister-in-law Merle and Doris Whittley and several other in-laws and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 11 AM at Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville, with a later graveside service Wednesday, September 17 at 10:30 AM at Vance Cemetery in Vance, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Samaritan’s Purse.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of Brook Army Medical Center and Peterson Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
