SSGT Richard Wayne Heimann walked freely into the arms of Jesus October 18, 2025, peacefully in his home surrounded by family in Kerrville TX. Rick was born in San Antonio, TX to William Henry Heimann and Marie Aileen Barrington Heimann on December 30, 1946. He married the love of his life, Cecilia (Cece) Ann Banta, on November 21, 1967 in Kerrville, TX.

Richard started school in Throckmorton, TX until he moved with his family to Kerrville, TX in the second grade. He continued his life in Kerrville and graduated from Tivy High School in 1965. He worked alongside his father at VK Garage as a mechanic until he entered the United States Marine Corps in August of 1967. He served in the Vietnam War from February 6, 1968-February 24, 1969. He was awarded: RVN Cross of Gallantry w/Palm & Frame, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Meal w/device, Vietnam Service Medal w/1, Rifle Expert Badge, Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon and Navy Achievement Medal w/Combat ā€œVā€. He was a truck driver, mechanic and instructor during his time as an active Marine. As a reservist, two years after his honorable discharge, he was awarded the appointment of Staff Sergeant. Upon his Honorable Discharge in 1971, he began his 41 year career with Mooney AirCraft where he was a welder who made parts and tools for the Mooney Airplanes. Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Kerrville Bass Club for many years.

Rick was preceded in death by the love of his life Cecilia (Cece) Heimann; his parents, William and Marie Heimann; brother, Billy Wade Heimann; brother in-law, Dr. Gary Willmann; son-in-law, Russell Vincent Jr.; grandson, Dakota Heimann; father and mother-in-law, Royce and Jeannetta Reeves; and brother-in-law, John (Butch) Reeves.

Survivors include his children: son, Brent Heimann (Shawn Allison), daughter, Kimberly Rodgers (Joel), daughter, Bridget Vincent; his grandchildren, Blayn Heimann (Effie), Kolten Heimann (Harley), Jaryn Heimann (Sydney), Nathan Gelsone (Lauren), Ansley Rivera (Manny), Makenna Gelsone, Emily Sutter (James), Allie Turner (Casey), Tori Covey (Cole), Vivienne Rodgers, Kolby Vincent (Ashley), Clay Vincent (Emily), Casey Vincent; his great-grandchildren, Bryson Heimann, Sawyer Heimann, Braxton Heimann, Hunter Heimann, CeAnn Sutter, Levi Sutter, Abigail Covey, Thomas Turner, Collin Turner and two Vincent babies due in 2026; his siblings, Jimmie Heimann (Angie) and his sister, Ann Willmann; brother-in-law, Garland Banta; brother-in-law, Bob Reeves (Janet); and sister-in-law, Linda Reeves. He also has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, TX with Joel Rodgers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, PLEASE donate to your local VFW, American Legion, DAV, Homes for Our Troops, Wounded Warrior Project, Operation Homefront or any other organization that assists our HEROS.
