Sylvia Ann Fritz-Dobbs
10/24/1963 - 12/22/2025
Sylvia Ann Fritz-Dobbs, a beautiful woman with a perpetual smile, was born October 24, 1963 and went to Heaven way too early on December 22, 2025.
Sylvia recently sold their family business (Mini Mart) and was excited to begin a new life of travel, philanthropy and turning her RLS Ranch in Center Point, Texas into a private wildlife conservancy and an inspirational destination for creative artists. Her primary intention was to spend more time with and grow closer to her friends and family. Friendships, both locally and abroad, were sacred to Sylvia and those relationships sustained her, especially during the final months of her life.
Sylvia grew up in Center Point where she began her business education at a very young age, standing on a Coke crate behind the cash register in her family’s grocery store checking out customers. Sylvia was very independent and goal driven; in high school, she started a lifelong self disciplined regime of rigorous exercise and healthy eating. In her teens she would jog the streets of Center Point with her dog by her side, visioning that one day, the town she loved would become a famous place for people to visit, eat, and celebrate life. Sylvia loved her fellow Center Point residents; in her adult years Sylvia and friends would cook and deliver meals to those in need on Christmas Day.
Sylvia graduated early from Center Point High School via a Schreiner University accelerated program. She earned a business and finance degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
After graduation Sylvia worked for businesses in Florida and California, then returned home to be the CFO of her parents’ Mini Mart convenient stores. Years later, Sylvia and her brother David Fritz would co-own the Mini Mart business. Sylvia worked diligently and took pride in making the stores a great Hill Country institution. She surrounded herself with talented, loyal employees that helped her grow the business, cultivate an enjoyable work environment, and serve the community. Sylvia committed time to and was honored to serve on the Board of Directors of the Peterson Regional Medical Center. In 2018 Sylvia was awarded the Kerrville Business Persons of the Year.
Sylvia’s rock was the Lord. She was a devout Christian and member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville where she was active in church ministries including ACTS. Wherever she and her husband Razor traveled, Sylvia was always excited to go to Mass in a new church in a new town. Sylvia planned to become a Eucharistic Minister at Notre Dame Catholic Church.
Sylvia was excited and optimistic about the future and how she could make a difference. She talked about these plans up until the days before she went to be with the Lord. Sylvia never coasted through life, but rather found a purpose in everything she did. After her terminal diagnosis, Sylvia prayed asking God to reveal to her what her purpose was now - she came to understand her purpose was to be strong in her faith as a testament to others, trusting and finding peace in God no matter the circumstances.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her brother Keith Allen Fritz and her parents Junior and Annie Marie Fritz. She is survived by her husband Razor Dobbs, her brother David Fritz, sister-in-law Stacy Fritz, niece Lucy and nephew Gage Fritz, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her standard poodle Blade.
The Rosary and visitation will be held at 6 pm Friday, January 2 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville, Texas.
Bishop Michael Boulette will preside over the funeral Mass at 10 am Saturday January 3 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville with a reception following. A private family burial will be held at Fisher Ranch in Hunt, Texas.
Pallbearers include Trey Fisher, Duane Simpson, Gage Fritz, Dan Genovese, Jack Everhart, Brack Dolce, Jenks Boston, Bill Crittenden and David Burlew.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Peterson Health Hospice Blessing Fund.
The family sincerely thanks all those involved in Sylvia’s care and support over the past five months.
