Patricia "Tracy" Crawford Gournay
3/5/1946 - 1/4/2026

Tracy, a devoted mother, loving sister, and lifelong educator, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching elementary school children, inspiring countless young minds with her passion for learning and her caring, generous nature.

Known for her quiet strength and unwavering kindness, Tracy lived a life of purpose and grace, always giving more than she ever asked for. Her compassion and energy touched everyone who knew her. Among her many acts of love, she selflessly cared for her father during the last four years of his life, a testament to her devotion to family.

Beyond the classroom, Tracy was a true adventurer. She traveled the world and proudly visited all seven continents, embracing new cultures and experiences with joy and curiosity. Later in life, she fulfilled her dream of building a home in the beautiful Hill Country of Hunt, Texas—personally designing, curating, and acting as the general contractor to bring her vision to life.

She also had a creative side and found joy in the art of felting, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected her patience and love for detail. Her passions extended to nature and community—she was an active member of her local garden club and book club, and she loved hiking, finding peace and inspiration in the great outdoors. Her faith was central to her life, and she was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She will be remembered for her generosity, her love of family, and her zest for life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she taught, the family she cherished, and the countless lives she touched.

Tracy is survived by her two children, Doug and Carolyn, and her sisters, Judy and Diane.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at 3:00 PM, On the Hill at Mo-Ranch.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mo-Ranch, a place that held special meaning to her.
