Mary Karen Barker
1/14/1947 - 1/30/2026

Mary “Karen” Barker, born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to George and Mary Humphries, lived a life shaped by love, family, and the many places she called home. As the daughter of an Air Force veteran, Karen experienced life in numerous states, gathering memories, friendships, and stories along the way.

Karen found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. Whether she was playing dominoes, Skip-Bo, or Uno, she was always ready for a little friendly competition. She never passed up the thrill of a good nickel slot machine in Las Vegas, and she cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Her favorites in life were often shared around a table—Mexican food, glazed donuts, homemade cinnamon rolls, and of course, her beloved chocolate bars.

Karen’s greatest pride was her family, whom she loved deeply and supported unconditionally. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Barker of Bandera, Texas; her son Sammy Crabtree and partner Glynda Young of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her brother Vester Humphries of Wichita Falls, Texas; granddaughter Samantha Crabtree of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandsons Brandon Crabtree of Abilene, Texas, and Isaac Edwards of Denison, Texas; and great granddaughters Taybri Penns, Anzlee Penns, and CiAnna Penns, all of Wichita Falls, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Karen is preceded in death by her beloved husband George Barker; her son Chris Barker; her parents George and Mary Humphries; her brother Mike Humphries; and her grandparents Vester and Lucille Richardson.

Mary “Karen” Barker will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, and the way she made every gathering feel like home. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved, the games she enjoyed, and the countless sweet moments she shared throughout her life!

Plans for a celebration of life will be at a later date in 2026.
