Dear Leifeste Family- I just found out out about Shirley’s
passing and was saddened by the news. I knew her
primarily when I taught Christopher, Janelle and Sarah in
Kindergarten at Tom Daniels. And then later, during time
together serving on the AYSO board. She always had a smile
and news of the kids when I would run into her in later years.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be greatly
missed.

One of the finest teachers I ever had in high school. I didn't know that at the time - I thought she was just tough. When I went to college I realized that she had taught me a full semester's worth of college work while in high school. I realized then just how professional she had been.

My heart goes out to Herman and the rest of the family.

My sympathy and condolences to you all. And I thought the service was today, Friday. When I checked for the time last night discovered that it was Thursday and I had already missed it.

I was in school with Herman and still have enjoyable visits when I see him or interact through HCTC. He certainly helped me navigate the digital divide more than once. It has been years but next time I see him I will pay my respects and offer my condolences in person.

Shirley was a fantastic teacher and person. She and I worked together at Tivy on UIL events, and I would see her at the soccer fields. One thing that always stands out with me was that she was always smiling. I also remember her laughter - what an infectious laugh! My condolences to the family.

I met Shirley back in mid 80's thru Rhonda McGinnis. At the time I was keeping school teachers children in our home. I had the pleasure of keeping little Sarah when Shirley went back to work. I also enjoyed visiting with her thru the years when later our paths would cross at the high school.

God Bless your family.

Hugs and prayers
Kathy.
