Mrs. Ellene Fletcher Masters, 84, of Kerrville, passed away on October 9, 2021 in Kerrville. Ellene was born in Kerrville to the late Bertram and Mary Ellen Fletcher (neé Flenniken) on February 2, 1937. She married David Herbert Masters on February 12, 1956 in Kerrville.

Born and raised in Kerrville, Ellene graduated from Tivy High School in 1955. Married shortly out of high school, Ellene focused on being a loving wife and mother. While Kerrville was always home, Ellene spent the majority of her life in Boerne. When she eventually entered the workforce, she went to work as an Administrative Assistant for a Law Office in Boerne, where she continued working until her official retirement in 1996. She most enjoyed spending her free time with some of her closest lady friends, playing Bridge. Ellene will be remembered as a caring and supportive friend, to all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Ellene was preceded in death by her parents, Bertram and Mary Ellen Fletcher; her husband, David Masters, Sr.; and twin sister, Berlene Fletcher Wilke (October 7, 2021).

Survivors include her two sons David Masters, Jr. and wife Leslie of Kerrville; Dale Masters and Brenda Wilson of San Antonio; as well as her older sister, Joyce Ingram of Kerrville. Additionally, survivors include grandson Wesley Masters and wife Randall of Fair Oaks Ranch; granddaughter Emily Masters of Boerne; and grandson Clayton Masters of Boerne. Ellene also had two great-grandchildren, Calvin and Austin Masters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10am on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Boerne City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Kendall County Junior Livestock Association (Boerne) or Alamo Hospice (Kerrville).

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the employees and staff of Alamo Hospice and Brookdale/Juniper Senior Living for the care and compassion extended to Ellene in her final years and days.
