He went to school at Reagan High School in Houston, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated from University of Houston and South Texas College of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Before moving to Kerr County in 1985, he was active in the Republican Party in Harris County and became active in local Republican Party activities after moving to the Hill Country.

Edwards served as Kerr County Judge. During his tenure as County Judge, he placed an emphasis on services for families and the children of the community. To Denise and the family. As you know Danny and my Dad (Travis Sr.) worked together in C.A.P. back in the 70's. As an old man myself I often look back at "The Great Role Models" in my life and Danny was one of those men. My best memories are flying in N1228Z or "the yellow banana" with Danny, Beverly Norman and Dad. I will always remember Danny's intellect, humor and great character. A great life lesson for me. Thanks Danny!

Dear Lana and Family, so very sorry for your loss, Danny was so wonderful and smart, dedicated and I was honored to work with him 10+ years. He cared about everyone he came in contact with and you always felt, if you needed a friend and advocate he would be there for you. As an advocate, he would never back down and always researched the law to be the best Attorney, Judge, Prosecutor to meet the issue head on. I learned so much from him. The world is missing him.
