Donald ''Donnie'' Ralph Holt, 70, passed away Saturday, January 27th, 2024.
Donnie was born the oldest of three children to Betty and Charles Holt in Dearborn, MI on June 11th, 1953. He began his passion for taxidermy in middle school and continued that passion to the end of his life. Donnie was a Taxidermist, Sculptor, Mentor, Unrivaled Artist and Owner of International Wildlife and Original Creations. He served as the President of the National Taxidermy Association. He won countless taxidermy competitions including Best in World Large Mammal for his Lion and Zebra mount and Best in World Game head for his Axis Mount. He also won Taxidermist of the year. He served on the Kerrville Chapter of Walk to Emmaus for several years after completing his own walk. He was also the co-host of the radio show Uncorked. He was an avid world traveler and adventure seeker, making friends everywhere he went, and I have no doubt that he is exploring right now, his next big adventure exploring the wonders of the universe. From stardust we come and to stardust you return daddy.
Donnie was preceded to heaven by his mother and father, Betty and Charles Holt. He is survived by his former wife and mother of their daughter, Ronda Holt; their daughter, Kari Chishana; their two precious grandchildren, Jonah Joseph and Everyn Donahue; sister: Darlene Hunt and her husband Jim Hunt; brother, Dale Holt and his wife Carol Holt; as well as many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Donnie was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. His passing was sudden and unexpected but quick, with the love of his life talking to him, just like he always hoped it would be.
While I have lost my most beloved daddy and best friend, many have lost a best friend and loved one in him. Donnie was a rock to many, a master of humor, a wild man and the life of the party. If you knew my daddy then you knew he was one of a kind. If you were lucky enough to be considered a friend then he would drop everything to be there for you. If you were family or considered family then he always had your back. If you messed with his family or friends, you better run because he was fiercely loyal, insanely protective, and he would find you. My daddy created magical moments everywhere he went and taught me there are no mistakes too big you cannot fix. He was a legacy and a force of nature. Love Daddy's Girl - Boo
I invite you to share your favorite pictures and stories of my daddy. It was his wish that we laugh, reminisce, smile, and party together during this time. #wildmanwaysholtlegacy

Sorry to hear of Dons passing. I met him at the annual Illinois Taxidermy show where he was a judge and speaker. His seminar was educational, entertaining and inspiring. Certainly a person many considered royalty in the taxidermy world. RIP my friend.
