Arthur (Art) G. Hastings, of Kerrville, TX, passed away on June 30, 2024, in Kerrville.

He was born in Westerville, NE to Donald T. Hastings and Dortha A. Cole on July 10, 1933. He married Ruth Brown on March 4, 1983, in Kerrville.

Art proudly served in the US Army for 20 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea. He received many accommodations and awards during his service, including the honor of being ''Soldier of the Year.''

After his military service, he went to the Police Academy in Nebraska and served as a police officer in Broken Bow, NE for a number of years.

He is survived by his spouse, Ruth Hastings; step-daughter, Cindy Wilkerson (Adam Hogill); step-son, Shane Evans (Jeannine); and step-son, Shel Evans (Renee); 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.

Burial will be at 1 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Pallbearers are Shane Evans, Shel Evans, Shone Evans, Brandon Evans, Kris Cherry and Daniel Wilkerson.

Honorary pallbearers are Ervin Brown and Glen Modgling.
