David Kenneth James, 72, of Kerrville, left us peacefully on October 15, 2024 in Kerrville, Texas while surrounded by friends and family. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his unwavering faith, kindness, love of family, and giving heart.
Born on July 27, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan to Kenneth and Elsie (Nevison) James. He graduated from Lincoln Park High School in Lincoln Park, Michigan. On October 14, 1972, he married his beautiful bride of fifty-two years, Donna Gabriel, in Taylor, Michigan. He worked as a computer analyst at American Airlines and various tech companies for over forty years. After moving to the Hill Country to care for his mother-in-law, Marvis Gabriel, he became pastor of a local church in Comfort, Texas and a minister and prayer partner for Louada Raschke Ministries in Kerrville, Texas.
David was preceded in death by his father and mother, Kenneth and Elsie James, respectively.
Survivors include his treasured wife, Donna James; three children, Matthew James, Jennifer Clark and husband, William Clark, and Julie Rose and husband, Richard Rose; his six grandchildren, Allyssa Garza and husband, Jorge Garza, Kelsey Rhodes and husband, Austin Rhodes, Claire Connor and husband, Trenton Connor, Taijah Rose and husband, Caleb Wilkins-Rose, Mya Rose, Nathanael Schexnider and fiancé, Abby Desormeaux; as well as his brother, Brian James and wife, Davette James.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. All are welcome.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. The burial will immediately follow at Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers include Matthew James, William Clark, Austin Rhodes, Jorge Garza, Trenton Connor, and Caleb Wilkins-Rose.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Louada Raschke Ministries (www.louada.org) would be greatly appreciated.

David was such a loving and vibrant Christian. We can be confident that he is now in his eternal home with Jesus Christ. We shall join him there one day. However, we will miss him greatly until then.
