Heaven must have gotten boring because God called Dennis ''Fun City'' Johnson back on October 17, 2024.

Dennis Frank Johnson, Army E-4 Specialist, 75, of Carrollton, TX, was born on July 18, 1949, in Edinburg, TX, to Willard Johnson and Ethel Johnson, née Rigby. Dennis graduated Tivy High School in Kerrville, TX, in 1968 and went on to serve in the Vietnam War, following his brother, Duane Aaron Johnson, Sergeant A Co., 3 BN, 12th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division, USARV Army of the United States Kerrville, killed in action August 13, 1968. We rejoice they are now reunited in Heaven.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jeanie Johnson, née Cartwright, of Carrollton, TX; daughters, Kellee Miller (Joshua) of Berlin, NH; Heather Neff (Connor) and granddaughter, Parker Jean Neff, of Dallas, TX; cousin, Dale Johnson (Cindy) of McAllen, TX; several second-cousins, nieces, and many, many loving friends.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting his friends and loved ones in the Hill Country and South Texas. He will be remembered for his joy of storytelling, fondly referred to as ''grove stories,'' in a nod to his family's citrus farming origins around the turn of the century in the Rio Grande Valley. To honor his memory, please remember to sing along whenever you hear ''Amazing Grace'' loudly, as this was the only song Dennis would sing in church. He also requests that Tony Romo, if available, be present at his funeral so the Cowboys can let him down one more time.

Services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville, TX. A memorial luncheon for family and friends will follow at Rails A Café at the Depot.
