Barbara was born on September 10, 1939, in Lafayette, Indiana and relocated with her family to San Antonio in 1949 as her father was in the military. Her father served in Germany, her older brother served in Korea, and her youngest brother served in Vietnam.
She married Carwin Buxton on January 23, 1956, in San Antonio, and after the birth of two sons, the family moved to Kerrville in 1968 and resided in Kerr County since.
Barbara only had one job in her lifetime as she worked for JC Penney for 36 years. She loved to crochet and give away her creations. Also, she was a member of the Ladies Bowling League for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. and Mary E. Westphal; brothers, Robert D. Westphal and Ronald E. Westphal; husband, Carwin L. Buxton; and son, Rodney L. Buxton.
Survivors include son, Robert E. Buxton; grandson, Rodney Buxton II and wife, Melanie Buxton; granddaughter, Jennifer Rieger and her husband Jamie Rieger; great-grandchildren, Rodney Buxton III, Ryker Buxton, Rip Buxton, Preston Baker, Wyatt Baker, Corbin Rieger and Asher Rieger.
Private services will be held by the family at a future date.

Robert, i am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I only met her a couple of times but felt like i knew her from hearing of the traveling and vacations the two of you took together.
