William (Bill) Everette Price of Kerrville, Texas, went home to be with Jesus on November 1, 2024. He was born in Slaton, Texas, to Lewis and Erma Price, on January 4, 1951.

He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in 1973 with a degree in English and History. He earned his master's degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1988.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and proudly served our country from 1974-1994, retiring with a rank of Major. His favorite times were spent as a B-52 radar navigator and bombardier, and the years he served at CFIC where he supervised training of students and faculty members for the USAF premier flight instructor-training course. Bill's final years in the military were spent at Strategic Air Command (later STRATCOM) as a strike planner.

After retiring from the military, Bill moved to Kerrville where he was a Dispatcher and Communications Supervisor for the Kerr County Sherriff's Department from 1996-2002. Following that, he was a Telecommunications Specialist and Public Safety Communications Manager for the Kerrville Police Department from 2002 until his retirement in 2013.

Bill held a lifelong love of hunting, camping, and fishing, enjoyed kayaking on the Pecos, whittling, reloading, reading, and most of all, his grandchildren.

Bill was a great aviator and friend. With Bill, you always knew he had your back, but you also knew he'd always tell you the truth. He was an authentic man of integrity and honor, who had a kind heart and was quite willing to give of himself without expecting anything in return. As a father he was not only his girls fierce protector and provider, but their soft-landing space. He was tender and loving in a way that the rest of the world did not get to witness. For his daughters, he was 'home.' His children and grandchildren never had to doubt his love for them, and while they will miss him all of their days, they know that he is home in heaven with his Savior, and they take great comfort in that.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Erma Price.

He leaves behind his daughters, Erin Elizabeth Price Peterson and her husband Brian, and Emily Austin Price Russ and her husband Trey; his grandchildren, Claire Elise Peterson, Ryan William Peterson, William Michael Russ, Wade Matthew Peterson, Greyson James Russ, and Alivia Jane Russ; his brother, Richard Price and his wife Trisha; his sister, Elizabeth Price; his nephew, James Price; and his niece, Melanie Price Stivers.

Memorial services will be held at 10am, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Phil Congdon officiating.

Bill and I met the day we joined the Air Force in San Antonio. Sitting in the bus together, we became instant friends for life. He set the bar for me and for many others. No matter how hard we tried, we always fell an inch or two below his performance. But being Bill, he always made sure to encourage us along as a team of friends. He was always an encourager—leave no one behind seemed to be his motto. I will greatly miss his smile and humor. Bob Sutton

Bill will be greatly missed. Judging from the posted photo, he died with the same sweet spirit we always remember…it always shined through that sweet, mischievous smile. He will be greatly missed for however long it takes for us to join him. It’s so nice to know JUST where to find him. Much love and sympathy to the family he so loved. Lynn Sutton
