Carroll graduated from La Vega High School in 1953, where he was a multi-sport athlete and star halfback in the 1951 Class AA State Championship versus Arlington High School, which they lost 7-0. He then attended Navarro Junior College on full scholarship to play football and baseball, where he was named All-Conference Halfback and Outstanding Backfield Player in football, along with Outstanding Baseball Player. Carroll then transferred to Baylor University, where he graduated in 1957. He received his Masters degree from the University of North Texas and his Superintendent's Certificate from Southwest Texas State University.
Carroll was a lifelong educator, administrator and coach. He began his teaching and coaching career at Galena Park High School followed by stints at Abbott, North Shore, La Vega, Center Point, and Wingate. Carroll also went on to serve as an administrator at La Vega and Superintendent at Center Point and Wingate before retiring as Principal at Lueders-Avoca.
In his personal life, Carroll loved spending time with his family and supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various academic and athletic events. He was an avid golfer with a tremendous short game, spent many afternoons playing tennis in the backyard with his children, and was known as a dedicated pillar of the Center Point community. Carroll was also a long-time member and supporter of the Center Point United Methodist Church.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Forest, Cleo, Clifford, Clarence, and Kenneth Daily.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, daughter Joni (Hank) Wiseman of Center Point, daughter Cathy Jacobs of Center Point, son Dennis (Billie) Daily of Center Point, son Donnie (Stefanie) Daily of Center Point, son Darrell (Christi) Daily of Wimberley, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 30th at Center Point Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Scott Turner.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of Peterson Regional Medical Center and Peterson Hospice, with special thanks to Linda, Carol, Anna, Hilda, and Mila.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent to Peterson Hospice or Meals on Wheels.

My deepest sympathy to your family. Carroll was a lifetime friend and a wonderful person to know. We have fond memories of being neighbors and watching our children grow up together in their younger years. We enjoyed his humor, wit, and always his good nature. He spread happiness and he will be missed!

I met Carroll years ago and had the occasion to see him on a somewhat regular basis. He was always the same, open and friendly with a smile on his face.
There is no way to measure the influence he had on young people throughout his career and his life, but he did so without any fanfare. He led by example and how we could use that in the world today.
Carroll was a good man and will be missed by many.
My deepest sympathy
