She was born to the late Jesus and Marcela Garza in Hunt, Texas on December 2, 1941.
She was married to Joe Hernandez in San Antonio, Texas and were married for 56 years.
Elisa lived in Kerrville for many years and was co-owner of the Acapulco Restaurant where she welcomed countless guests with her beautiful smile and genuine hospitality. The restaurant was not just a place to eat - it was a second home to many, a place where strangers became friends, and friends became family.
Elisa had a special gift for making people feel seen and valued. Her joyful laugh and attentive ear turned ordinary moments into cherished memories. Whether it was a quick hello, a shared story, or a heartfelt conversation, she made every visitor feel like the most important person in the room.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; her sons, Ruben Hernandez and Ricky Duran; her daughter, Lisa Sanchez; her grandchildren, Aaron Duran, Leanna Duran, Elisha Hernandez, AJ Sanchez and Andy Sanchez; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Estella Calderon (Eloy), Olga Dominguez (Ruben), Esmeralda Garza, Emma Rosas (Rudy), Rosalinda Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elisa is now reunited with her parents; sons, Roy and Henry Duran; brothers, Ramiro, Jesse, Reynaldo, Albert, Robert and Carlos Garza; and her sisters, Henrietta Ruis, Eva Rodriguez, Esther Trevino, Ernestina Rosas, Sylvia Centeno and Margaret Garza.
Visitation will be from 4pm-6pm followed by a rosary at 6pm on Sunday, February 2nd at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St. in Kerrville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, February 3rd, at Notre Dame Catholic Church officiated by Father Duda. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Ricky Duran.

She will forever be remembered as a shining light in our lives, a woman whose kindness and love enriched the world around her.
