Carolyn Dietert Christian passed away on April 1, 2025, at the age of 91.
She was born on September 10, 1933, in Kerrville, Texas to Alexander Christian Dietert and Eleanor Kramer Dietert. She was raised and lived in Kerrville until graduation from Kerrville High School, after which she attended and graduated from Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. In the earlier years that followed, she focused on raising her two sons and first had a long career as a schoolteacher. Thereafter, she was also involved in other work such as real estate and even temporarily for the Texas Justice System as a parole officer. She was a very kind, good, courageous and strong woman who endured many hardships in her life, always with perseverance and optimism. Her main priorities always centered on the welfare of her sons. In her later years, she enjoyed animals and had several pets that she dearly loved and cared for as well as all of the stray cats in the neighborhood who never went hungry. She also enjoyed propagating and caring for many plants.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Robert Troy Henderson, brother Randolph Dietert, and three sisters, Doris Rupp, Verna Mae Speights and Fayrene Smout. It has been my pleasure to live next-door to Carolyn since fall of 2018. She was a thoughtful and kind neighbor, and my admiration for her grew and grew as I saw how strong-minded and independent she was even with the health issues she started to experience. So independent that it was hard to get her to allow me to do anything for her! And when she did, she always wanted to do a good turn for me in return. She was such a positive person to be around, and I miss her greatly. My sympathies and condolences are extended to all of her family.
