I didn’t know Courtney, but I do know Joan and Dan. Tge Cortez family is well-loved. Every life is precious, and the loss of any is heartbreaking, but certainly the loss of a young person who should have so many years left to live is tragic, made more so by the senseless act of another. May Courtney fly with the angels and let her presence be felt by those who loved her so much. The community’s collective heart breaks for you all. May God comfort you and give you strength in the days to come.

Your time on earth was short, but memorable. I met you while talking with your Dad and your love for each other was so evident! My heart breaks knowing you are no longer with us.

Courtney was not just my best friend, she was my big sister and mother... we talked everyday about everything on discord, we both supported each other and were there for each other even when we fought... Courtney was more family to me then most of my real family... and now that shes gone... I feel the same way as her family... I'm sorry that she past, I'm still in shock and I hope one day we can meet and hopefully connect... I hope she rests in peace...

Love Ethan Araujo...

Courtney we didn’t get to meet in this life sadly but I think of you and the future you now have to miss that you could have had. My imagination of you places me everywhere a young lady is to do that now has been taken away from you. For that I am truly sorry. I think of you as a sweet young lady that was dearly loved by everyone. I hope you bring the quick smile on that made people enjoy your presence in the room. That happy thought. That peaceful thought. I know you will be the one watching everyone down here the closest. You will show up as a surprise when near by everyone’s heart. Rest in peace young one. My thoughts and prayers to our family. Love from the Aunt Stacy

There are no words that can describe the Loss of one beautiful young Lady such as you Courtney. The Joy you brought to your parents and Grandparents and your sister, the wonderful time with your friends and family. Your laughter and smiles brought such a wonderful Joy to all who were around you. The world has lost a ray of sunshine, but i am sure you are up there picking on your Uncle Dan and teasing Cody and keeping them in line. Love you sweet Angel, your missed beyond words. Always n forever in our hearts n minds, never forgotten. with love Noni
