Diane Frasier Hays
10/26/1939 - 6/15/2022

Diane Frasier Hays was carried home while she peacefully slept on June 15, 2022. Diane was 82 years young.

Diane leaves behind her husband of 62 years, John Preston Hays. Diane was born and raised in Pharr, Texas. She proudly graduated from PJSA High School in 1957 where she was a Bearette, the High School Dance Team. She was also a member of Y-Teens, Choir, FHA and was the FHA Song Leader. She also served on the Senior Council. She was the DE Reporter, and served as their Homecoming Sweetheart.

She worked briefly for Rio Grande Valley Gas Company where she met John. They married in 1960, and she relocated to Weslaco. She joined First Baptist Church where she and John were active members for many years. In 1997, John retired, and they both relocated to Kerrville, Texas.

Diane enjoyed a good cup of coffee, and good company. Each morning, she started her day with her Savior Jesus Christ in quiet Bible Study. Her pride and joy were her two children, Cindy and Steve, and later her grandchildren Tiffany, Kyle, and Preston. She worked briefly as a Preschool Teacher for Jeanie Triplet, and then as an “Avon Lady." She served in the First Baptist Church Weslaco WMU, Girls in Action (GA’s), Vacation Bible School, and helped with the Youth Group. She also sang in the Kerrville Trinity Baptist Church choir and traveled to many concerts. She and her choir friends also sang at many Nursing Homes throughout the Hill Country. She loved her country, and always had an American flag in her yard.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Nina Goode Mountz, James Earl Frasier, and step-father, William “Bill” Mountz; siblings, Miriam Gayle Frasier, Norma (Stewart) Austin of Florida, Avis (Walter) Hatfield of McAllen, and James Earl (Margaret) Frasier Jr. of San Antonio. She joins other family members, Bill and Linda Lindsey, Truman and Alma Lyles, Eddie and Lucille Hays.

Surviving loved ones include her husband, John Preston Hays (Kerrville, Texas); twin brother, Ted Frasier (San Juan, Texas), JoAnn (Joe) Selman (Chandler, Texas); daughter, Cindy (Jerry) Sadler (Harlingen Texas); son, Steve (Staci) Hays (Hilton Head Island, South Carolina); grandchildren, Tiffany Stanley (Cedar Park, Texas), Kyle Sadler (Austin, Texas) and Preston Hays (Hilton Head Island, South Carolina); and beloved family pets Lily, Raindrop, Lovie, and Cali.

A private family viewing will be held June 18, 2022 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. Graveside services will be held on July 1, 2022 at 10:45 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.

The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Wilderness Park, and the employees of River Hills Health and Rehab where she spent her last few months.
