William Gibson

Bill passed away Feb. 11, 2024 at his home in Kerrville, Texas.
He was born Feb. 4, 1941 to William Gibson and Marion Elizabeth Carsey at Orange, New Jersey.
After graduating with a degree in Forestry from Rutgers University, he married Selma Corbett, Aug. 10, 1963 at Spotswood, New Jersey.
He began his career with the National Park Service (NPS) in October 1963 at Morristown NHP and wore his “Smokey the Bear Hat” until retirement at Dayton Aviation NHP after 35 years of service.
Bill and Selma moved to Kerrville, Texas in 2001.
He had many interests, hobbies, friends and adventures but he was most proud and happiest of his daughters and grandsons. In recent years, he enjoyed talking and emailing with them and especially receiving photos and videos of his great-grandchildren in North Carolina.
Survivors include wife, Selma; their two daughters, Cindy (Robert) Dandridge and Elizabeth (William) Anderson; grandsons, Alex (Marisa) Dandridge, Marcus Dandridge and Dylan Anderson; great-grandchildren, Olivia Dandridge, Elena Dandridge and Dominic Dandridge; his sister, Marianne (George) Kuleba; nephew, Gregory; and niece, Alison.
