Born on October 2, 1934, in Harper, Texas to Fred and Edith Brown Whitewood. He graduated from Harper High School and went on to attend Southwest Texas State University. In his retirement years, he furnished top quality replacement heifers for other cattlemen on his farm in Center Point and his ranch in Menard.
