John Austin Smith, 89, of Medina, TX, passed away on June 1, 2017 in San Antonio. He was born in Medina to Effie and Austin Smith on May 5, 1928. He was married to Thelma Ann Black.\r\n\r\nJohn is preceded in death by his parents.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Thelma; son, David A. Smith; sister, Loma Gabrielson.\r\n\r\nA Visitation will be Monday, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, June 5, 2017 at Medina First United Methodist Church followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 PM, June 5, 2017 with Rev. Bill Stegemueller officiating.\r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to a charity of one's choice. \r\n\r\n
