Kathleen Elizabeth Moenning-Taylor, 88 years old, of Center Point, Texas entered into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nShe was born in Dade County, Missouri to Albert Henry and Martha Witzke-Moenning on June 28, 1929. She was the fifth of six children; four brothers and one sister. She was born in the Missouri farm family the year that commenced the Great Depression. Her childhood was not easy but the circumstances gave her a strong sense of family and a work ethic that would last a lifetime.\r\n \r\nShe married Harold Otho Taylor on February 16, 1946 in Dade County, Missouri. Harold's career was in the Army and he fought in Europe during WWII. After their marriage they were stationed in Germany where she lost their first child, a daughter born premature. A couple of years later, during the same tour, their only surviving child, a son, was born in Munich in 1956.\r\n \r\nKathleen was preceded in death by both parents and Harold, her husband of 51 years. She outlived all of her siblings: Delbert, Dorothea, Elmer, Melvin and Clifford. She is survived by her son Harold Gregory Taylor and wife Cindy of Kerrville, Texas. Her granddaughters: Amy Taylor of Houston, Alexandra Taylor of Katy and Abby Walston and husband Garrett of Center Point. Her great grandchildren are: Faith Buchanan, Gabby Buchanan, Maddie Buchanan, Kel Walston and Cera Walston, and one great-great granddaughter, Emelia Buchanan. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nKathleen was a "ball of fire" and an inspiration to her family. She invested her life in her son and her granddaughters and their spirit reflects hers. Her daughter-in-law was her friend and primary caregiver for many years. She was ornery, self-reliant and unpredictable but trustworthy to a fault. Until the very end she could be found every Friday morning (a day dubbed "blue hair" day by her son) in Marie's shop in Center Point. She was devoted to Trinity Church of Center Point and loved her little church family; she frequently blessed its members with her award winning coconut cream pie. She will be sorely missed.\r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 10:30 AM at Trinity Church, 5848 Hwy 27, Center Point, Texas.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial be given to Trinity Church, designated youth group. Kathleen loved the youth of her church and often had functions for them at her home. Trinity Church, P.O. Box 1172, Center Point, TX 78010.
