Patricia Sue DSpain, 80 , of Bandera, passed away on January 27th in the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Celeste, Tx to Weldon and Chylas Cardwell on June 5, 1937. She married Willard DSpain on July 8th, 1955 in Bandera, Tx.\r\n\r\nShe graduated from Bandera H.S. in 1955. She was someone with a great compassion for all animals and was involved in starting the first Humane Society in Garland, TX. After moving back to Bandera, Pat continued her passion to find good homes for many pets in Bandera and the surrounding areas. In 1978 she was elected to the Fine Arts Club as President, and later started a Christmas Program for Children less fortunate, The Gifts of Love that helped families in need to make their Christmas special.\r\n\r\nPat is preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Chylas Cardwell; her sister, Sarah Cardwell Shuptrine and her son, Timothy Kyle DSpain.\r\n\r\nPat is survived by her husband, Willard, her son, Patrick (Denise) DSpain of Roanoke, Tx and son, Terry DSpain of Bandera; her sister, Shirley CardwellHunter; her grandchildren, Wendi Realzola, Amber Womble and Patrick DSpain, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Christian Carter, Leif DSpain, Jordan Malvern, Alex DSpain; and a great great grandchild, Brooklyn Carter.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be Thursday, February 1st, 6-8pm, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera, Tx.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held on Friday, February 2nd at 2pm Grimes Funeral Chapel with David Collett of Bandera Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will\r\nfollow at the Bandera Cemetery.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Ray DSpain, Trey DSpain, Travis DSpain, Kevin LeStourgeon, Abel Realzola, Clifford Herbst.
