David Gillespie made his transition in the afternoon of March 7th after a lengthy hospitalization for a lung infection and pneumonia. He had recently been transferred from Audie L. Murphy Veteran's hospital in San Antonio to LifeCare Hospital where he passed away. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 34 years Donna Gillespie and his son Jim of Los Angeles.\r\n\r\nDavid was a veteran and a nurse whose career path led him to a passion for working with those with addiction and alcohol problems. He was a life-long learner and a man of thoughtful intelligence and a quirky wit.\r\n\r\nThe family will plan a Celebration of Life at a later date. Please lift Donna and their son Jim up to the light at this time of change and loss.\r\n
