"Hello, whoever reads this. I was a close friend of Matthew's and a collaborator with him under his classic RIOT alias on the then-popular website Rappad. He had roped me into songwriting in Roblox in 2017 when I was undergoing a rough time in my life where I nearly took my own life and where my father had undergone the most painful of his divorces, I was around 13. Collaborating with him through the old roblox forums, and eventually discord, was one of the parts of my day that I looked forward to, and I never realized it until it was too late how valuable our time was together. He understood my unusual humor whereas others would take themselves super seriously, and he was one of the few genuine friends I've had. I've even called him on the phone to chat about stuff and my step mother would think of it oddly, haha! One of my favorite memories was how RIOT had won a Rappad rap battle against Tervs, who was one of the most intimidating battle rappers of the sight that arrived like a ghost. He had a nerd flow that somehow flossed even the site's great veterans and made a fan out of me. RIOT was lined up to battle him, and out of all the people to do so, he was the only one that had won convincingly. I wish Rappad would have kept its forums so that I could return to our conversations, since I had switched discord accounts a long while back and do not unfortunately have that line of communication anymore. The way I found the Matthew I was looking for to remember was a youtube rapper's instagram post about him. He really was such an amazing kid and was one of my role models, and Matthew always complimented my production wayy back when I only knew how to loop samples I copped off of looperman a long time ago. To think that I am now older than he will ever get to be haunts me and reminds me of the hole that was left when he passed. I still remember the discord call where I waited for him, not believing the rumors that were around until his obituary was posted. I don't remember much after that, but my interest in hip hop had waned after. As I have returned to production six years later, I keep Matthew in mind and remember that you can always be the bigger person, no matter your background or environment. I wish that the world could have given him the grace he had given to me despite our disagreements at times, as one of my greatest satisfactions in life was that things ended on a note where it was the usual, us just being buddies chatting on discord. I never saw what was to come, but I hope he knows that I will always remember his name no matter how far my music production goes. Thank you to Matthew and his loving family, DrCooCo / Acaciuz / Condeos / Shivanite"
