Rita Ruth Simons, 70, of Medina, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Bandera Texas to Geneive Hubble Whitehead and Ervin C. Whitehead Sr. on July 13, 1950. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rex Simons.\r\nRita Simons is survived by daughters, Rachel Simons of San Antonio, Judith Simons and husband, John Salazar of Kerrville; sons, Allen Simons and wife, Lorraine of The Woodlands, Texas, Michael Simons of Medina, Texas; brother E. C. Whitehead Jr. and wife, Sandy of Medina, Texas; grandchildren, Anthony and Daniel Oranday, Johnny and Gwen Salazar, Evie and Rafael Ruiz, and Maximus Simons.\r\nA viewing will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Bandera, Texas, Thursday, October 1, 2020, 10:00 AM to 1:00PM, funeral service following at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A prayer service will then follow at the River, 54 Megraw St., Medina, Texas, 2:00PM - 3:00 PM with burial immediately following at Simons Family Cemetery, 254 Megraw St., Medina, Texas.\r\n \r\n\r\n
