William Bill Ed Vlasek, founder of Vlasek Pump Company, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at his residence in Hunt surrounded by his family. Bill was the 2nd oldest of 7 children born in Gonzales, Texas to Louise (Polasek), and John F. Vlasek on October 9, 1936. \r\n\r\nBill attended school in Gonzales County during his childhood where he delivered newspapers and helped his dad in the meat market. Early on, Bill was known for his keen business sense and a will to make it happen. He joined the Army in 1955, returning to the Houston area where he owned and operated a landscaping service, specializing in tree grafting. Bill and his family moved to Hunt in the early 1960s where he founded what is now known as Vlasek Pump Company. \r\n\r\nBill was a true entrepreneur. He was on the forefront of the water industry as a master pump installer and well driller. He held master licensing in septic installation and was the owner of many public water systems. Bill was a land developer in the Hill Country area as well as a rancher and a radio tower specialist. He was known for his family get-togethers along with his wonderful cooking while enjoying country and western music. Bill was an avid hunter. All who knew Bill were always welcome to use his meat room to process their own harvest. Bill was a jokester and his children have those same qualities we all loved in Bill. \r\n\r\nBill will now be joining his beloved sons, Samson and Christopher; daughter, Pamela; his love, Barbara; parents, Louise and John; and sister, Dorothy, in the Kingdom of God. \r\n\r\nBill is survived by his children, Dennis and Cy Vlasek, Willy Vlasek, Shaleah and Doug Hill, Jill Reed, Sasha Vlasek, Greg and Marie Vlasek; his siblings, Virgina and Ron Cimio, Mildred and Chester Walker, David Vlasek, Michael and Sandra Vlasek, and Wanda and Mike Kilburn; his grandchildren, Joshua, Samantha, Nicole, Doug, Sydney, Ella, Abigail, Catrina, Danielle, Shaleen, Rance, OTika, Hannah, Abbie, Bella, Faustine, Cyprien, Pierre-Maxence and Gavin; and his great-grandchildren, Emma, RJ, Ben, Hunter, Tyler, Rayliegh, Clayton, Bethany, Elizabeth, Beaux, Rex, Alex, Conner, Owen, Dagan, Paisley, Basil, Faraday, Siersha; and acted as an additional grandfather to many, many others. As well as numerous extended family members.\r\n\r\nRosary service will be held at 6 PM on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville with Deacon Jimmy Bill. Mass will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 9 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville. Interment will follow at the Hunt Japonica Cemetery. \r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Joshua Vlasek, Hunter Kohl, Trenton Taylor, Doug Hill, Jr., Chris Sevey, Tony Meinert, and Rance Wilson. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be made in his honor to Hunt ISD Library, PO Box 259, Hunt, TX 78024 or Hunt Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 362, Hunt, TX 78024. \r\n
