Carl Lester Bahrke went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Saturday, March 19, 2022. Carl was born July 10, 1948 in Greenville, MS to parents Leslie and Elizabeth Bahrke.
His parents moved him, along with his brothers and sister, to Arlington, Texas in 1951.
Carl graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1968. During high school, he was a bus captain for Bethel Baptist Church. The following year, he started Arlington Baptist Seminar to pursue his passion for choir and directing.
He married Pamela Gilbert in June of 1978. They welcomed a son, Charles Wesley, in May of 1980.
Carl worked for Stanley Security in Dallas for many years, along with Safeway Grocery Stores in Fort Worth. He loved hunting and fishing, wood working and bowling.
In 2004, Carl was diagnosed with Glaucoma which would lead to him being declared legally blind in 2009.
He moved to Kerrville to be close to family after his wife, Pam, passed away in 2015.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Elizabeth Bahrke and his wife, Pam.
He is survived by his son, Charles Bahrke of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, William Bahrke of Kerrville and Rodger Bahrke of San Antonio; sisters, Donna Hill of Kerrville, Edna Vandiver of Ingram, and Nadenia Buntin of Oakland, MS; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private memorial service for the family will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
