Patricia Gail (Buckley) Smith, passed away quietly on April 21, 2023 at Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville, surrounded by loving family. She was 68 years old. Her family is deeply saddened by her passing but grateful she is no longer in pain.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Betty Buckley, nephew Eric Honeycutt and niece Mandy Honeycutt.
Patty is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Roy Smith; their children Austin, Travis (and Lyndsy), Kady (and Daniel), her grandchildren Leni Dean and Cameron and her siblings Mike Buckley, Tommy and Marcia Buckley, Sandy and Marvin Honeycutt, Amy Buckley, many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Jima Zimmerman and her lifelong dear friend Debbie Brooker.
As a hard worker who never knew how to sit still, she held many positions over her long career. She was co-owner and business manager of WingfieldSmith Advertising before transitioning to Luther Jones Elementary where she was the receptionist and office manager. Patty brought smiles to the faces of many children, parents, and coworkers during her time there.
She embarked on an adventure to the Texas Hill Country with Roy to become managers of Prade Ranch for the last decade. She put a lifetime of exceptional hosting and organizational skills to use providing a welcoming atmosphere to all who passed through the ranch. During her retirement, Patty and Roy volunteered with the Kerr County Meals on Wheels, delivering warm meals and warm smiles to many.
Patty was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, an infinitely patient wife, and a compassionate soul who became a best friend to nearly everyone she ever met. She was an expert seamstress, a wonderful cook, and master of multiple creative arts and crafts including crochet, macrame, needlepoint, and gardening.
She touched so many lives and will be missed by all.
In celebration of Patty’s life, her family and friends are welcomed to attend her Celebration of Life at the South Texas Botanical Gardens in Corpus Christi, TX on Saturday, May 20th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Kerr County Meals on Wheels will be appreciated.
