Marta Maria Rodriguez, 91, of Newaygo, Michigan, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 11, 2023, in Comfort, Texas. She was born in Laredo, Texas to Ramon Vela and Amadita Ramirez on September 20, 1931.
She married Rafael Enrique Rodriguez on May 23, 1949, in Webb County, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband on September 7, 2013 and her eldest son, Enrique Rodriguez on April 13, 2023.
Surviving are her children: daughters, Lonnie (Jack) Wisney of Kerrville, Texas, Alicia Guajardo of Fremont, Michigan, Irene Munoz of Kerrville, Texas, Marianela Salgado of Avon Park, Florida, Mrs. Mary Jane Richardson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sons, Armando (Sheila) Rodriguez of Wichita, Kansas and Daniel Rodriguez of Fremont, Michigan; sisters, Elida Ramos, 94, of San Antonio, Texas and Berta Rosa Capistran of Castroville, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and Kevin (Jo) Ryan.
Rosary and visitation will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 4-6 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, Texas.
Interment will be in Newaygo, Michigan. Arrangements are still being made. Immediate family only.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
