Eloy Villanueva Ybarra, 69, of Kerrville, passed away on May 30, 2024.

Eloy graduated from Tivy High School and then spent his younger years working for Ken Stoepel Ford and ended his work career as a custodian for the Kerrville Independent School District.

When retired, Eloy spent his days enjoying his walks down to the convenience store to get his Diet Coke and lotto tickets. Eloy may not have had children of his own, however he was a father figure to many. Eloy raised two generations and was blessed to see the start of his third. From the countless walks around the block to the late night conversations, one thing for certain is Eloy had a special relationship with each and every one of us here today.

Eloy was preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio and Louisa Ybarra; brother, Alex Ybarra; and brother, Florencio Ybarra.

Eloy is survived by Trisha and James Barker, Alex and Tricia Ybarra, Nicole and Stephen Rodriguez, Cynthia Ybarra, Stephanie Ybarra, Salvador Ybarra, Valarie Murphy and Samantha Bill; as well as 14 great-nieces; 10 great-nephews; and 2 great-great-nieces and 2 great-great-nephews.

Services for Eloy Ybarra will be held at 2 PM, Friday June 7, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels and will be followed by a graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery.
