Nora Bruton Thompson passed away on June 13, 2024, in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Belton, Texas on August 7, 1936, to Ethel and Wade Bruton.
She lived in Post, Texas most of her early years and graduated from Post High School in 1954. She stayed home with her children until she became a nurse in 1973 and worked until the age of 72. She enjoyed many needlecrafts and was an avid reader. She was known as Granny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a breast cancer survivor. She was a member of Junction Highway Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; husband, Robert Thompson; and son, Andrew Coonfield.
Survivors include daughter, Lorna Coonfield; son, Douglas Coonfield; daughter, Sandra Meadow and husband Scot; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
