Leah Paige Heiderich, 41, was called home by the Lord on January 17, 2026, after a respiratory illness.

Leah worked at Peterson Regional Medical Center where she began as a ward clerk and patient care tech on ARU, ICU, as well as 2 and 3 West, while working and raising her two boys.

She attended Chamberlain University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She worked on 3 West for two years and returned to her love of critical care nursing in ICU. Leah completed the nursing residency program at Peterson.

Leah was an amazing person; she brought a smile to all who encountered her. Her light was never hidden under a bushel basket and always seemed to know when someone needed a kind word. She played music and sang to her patients and coworkers. Her famous quote to all was “Make Good Choices.”

She will be missed by her two sons, Thomas Ryan (17) and Myles Hartford Overturf (14); mother, Ellen and Ron Kimmel; sisters, Rachel and Noe Gorana, Rebekah Claire Heiderich and Lindsey Novikoff; brother, Matthew Heiderich; grandmother, Connie Kimmel; aunts and uncles, Mark and Marlyn Kimmel, Dave and Chellie Kimmel; cousins, Josh and Tyler Kimmel, Valerie Evans; best friend, Stef Housh of Mississippi; and all of her Peterson Regional Medical Center family.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Hosanna Lutheran Church, with a come and go celebration of life to follow in the Barn, 134 Camp Meeting Rd. S, Kerrville, Texas.

"Ellen and family, I hope you are doing ok in this difficult time. I still just can't believe she is gone. I loved working with her as did all of us at PRMC. She always had a big smile something silly to say to make your day. "oh fudgecicle!" I am so proud that she worked full time, went to school and raised 2 sons. Wow. I will think of you often and be happy that you are with God and his angels"
