John Centeno, 68, of Center Point, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026 surrounded by his family, after a strong fought battle with cancer.
John resided in Center Point with the love of his life of 45 years, Beatrice Menchaca.
John was born June 26,1957 in Sunnyside, Washington to Margarito Centeno and Adela Islas.
John devoted 50 years to his craft as a professional floor installer, taking immense pride in the work of his hands. He was a hardworking and devoted man who gave his all to provide for his family, always putting their needs before his own. Known for his kind heart, John was never hesitant to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He found peace and happiness in the simple things—spending time outdoors, caring for his plants, and looking after his beloved pets. Above all, John treasured the moments he shared with his family and friends; those times meant the most to him. He will be remembered for his unwavering love, his generosity, and the joy he brought to those around him. And, of course, his love for the Dallas Cowboys was just one of the many things that made him uniquely John.
John was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Valenzuela; and parents, Margarito and Adela Centeno.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Centeno; his children, John Eric Centeno and wife Tasha, Sonia Centeno, John Centeno, Laura Centeno and husband Hector Cervantes, Adelina DeLeon, Priscilla Moreno, Jennifer Moreno and Lydia Bernal; his siblings, Richard Centeno, David Centeno, Elida Chavera and husband Roy, Teresa Horton and husband Chris; grandchildren, Cybrin Centeno, Kevin Centeno, Corbin Centeno, Ernest Constante, Gabriela Constante, Celeste Cervantes, Hector Cervantes, Ethan Cervantes, Emma Centeno, Sophia Centeno, Juanito Bernal, Nicolas Bernal, Dasia Moreno, Genesis Moreno, Niko Casillas and Laila Casillas; and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday April 27, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday April 28, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Michelle Faust officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Becker, Roy Chavera Jr, Hector Cervantes Sr., Hector Cervantes Jr., Joe Arispe and Jonathan Luna.

Reception to follow after the burial will be held Tuesday from 12-3 PM at Happy State Bank Expo Hall 3785 TX-27, Kerrville, Texas 78028. All food donations can be dropped off at this location.
